UP govt approves pension scheme for construction workers

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to give pension of Rs 500 per month to construction workers.
"Pension of Rs 500 per month will be given to workers, who are registered with the UP Building and Other Construction Welfare Board for a period of five years and have completed 60 years of age," Labour Minister Shahid Manzoor said.
He said pension would be given to only those workers, who were not getting benefits under any other pension scheme.
Manzoor said that the pension would be given to workers for their lifetime and to the spouse after death.
