UP govt approves proposal to raise retirement age of teachers

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet today gave its nod to the proposal to raise the retirement age from 60 to 62 years for teachers in primary section of non-government, recognised and aided junior high schools.
A decision to this affect was taken at the state Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, official sources said.
The Cabinet approved transfer of seven-acre land free of cost for setting up agriculture college in Azamgargh.
The Cabinet also approved setting up food safety appellate tribunal at Lucknow, Agra, Meerut, Moradabad, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Chitrakoot and Varanasi.
The Cabinet gave green signal to the proposal for four-laning and strengthening of Bhadohi-Kapseti-Babatpur road in keeping with its importance besides four-laning the Deoria-Kasia, Etah-Kasganj and Bahraich-Bhinga roads by relaxing the PCU (passenger car unit) norms.
