Sara (27) was killed on July 9 when the car in which she was travelling overturned. Her husband Amanmani, who was driving the car, miraculously escaped unhurt, raising doubts over the accident. It was claimed that the car met with the accident as the driver attempted to save a cyclist in Firozabad district.
Seema Singh had called on Governor Ram Naik and apprised him of the case. She had pressed for CBI probe and was assured of help.
The family had also demanded narco-analyis test of her husband Amanmani and father-in-law Amarmani Tripath.
An FIR of murder was lodged against Amanmani Tripathi at the Sirsaganj police station of Firozabad on July 18, police said.
Seema Singh had raised objections over the post mortem report of her daughter saying that there was no mention of injury marks on her body nor was the autopsy conducted by a panel of doctors.
Tripathi was arrested in September 2003 in connection with the murder of poet Madhumita Shukla, with whom he allegedly had an affair. Madhumita was murdered on 9 May 2003.
The post mortem report of Madhumita revealed that she was carrying a foetus that matched the DNA of Amarmani and he and his wife Madhumani Tripathi were sentenced to life imprisonment in October 2007.
