Slamming the state government over the law and order situation, BJP Mahila Morcha Uttar Pradesh president Madhu Mishra today said the Samajwadi Party has failed to check crime.
"The state government has failed in curbing crime and criminals. Incidents of rape, kidnapping, eve-teasing and molestation are on the rise in Uttar Pradesh under the guardianship of Samajwadi Party," alleged Mishra in a press conference here.
"The SP government is protecting the goons and anti-social elements and it is with their support that incidents of loot, kidnapping and crimes against women were being committed," she said.
Stating that there is an atmosphere of "fear and terror" in the state, the woman leader also charged the police with not registering FIRs on complaints and working as "puppets" of the "protected goons".
"The law and order situation in the state is in shambles. Girls cannot go to school... This atmosphere has been created by the goons patronised by the Samajwadi Party," the BJP leader alleged.
