UP Govt orders closure of schools as cold wave intensifies

With intense cold conditions continuing to prevail across Uttar Pradesh, the state government today ordered closure of all the schools upto class eight till December 28, officials said.
"Management of schools of all the boards in Uttar Pradesh have been directed to close the schools due to intense cold in the state," Secretary, Basic education, H L Gupta said.
The Basic Siksha Adhikaris (BSA) of all the districts have been asked to ensure that schools remain closed, he said.
Three persons were killed in fog-related incidents even as intense cold conditions continued to prevail across the state today, throwing normal life out of gear.
The minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Meerut at 2.3 degrees Celsius.
MeT office forecast says that tomorrow will be dry and fog would occur at many places over the state.
The weatherman has warned of dense to very dense fog at a few places.
