The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, state Power Minister Srikant Sharma said.
Over 1.69 lakh shiksha mitras (ad-hoc teachers) in the state have been on a warpath with the state government for regularisation of their services as assistant teachers.
The Supreme Court had on July 25 quashed the appointment of shiksha mitras as teachers drawing regular pay scale.
The move to appoint shiksha mitras as full-time teachers was taken by the previous Akhilesh Yadav regime in 2014.
This will help in enhancing irrigation facilities for farmers, he said.
