Around 30 issues of NRIs related to property disputes, security of their relatives living here, legal aid, facilitation for their establishments here, issues with banks etc were resolved today, Principal Secretary, NRI Department, Sanjiv Saran said in a release.
47 such issues related to 19 districts of the state were taken up by the Principal Secretary with DMs and SSPs through video conferencing and 30 of them were resolved.
Most of the NRIs, who have communicated their issues to the new NRI Department, belong to Middle East countries and United States of America, the release said.
Sharan said a dedicated NRI Department has been created for this purpose only and the district-level officials need to be sensitive to the expectations and issues of NRIs.
He said the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to resolve the issues of NRIs from the state on a priority basis.
The state government created the Non-Resident Indian Department in July last this year to resolve issues of NRIs and attract NRI investment in UP.
