UP govt reverts transfer of irrigation land to Noida authority

The decision in this regard was taken at the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav here.

The state cabinet has also issued directions to take action against the officials who were responsible for the land transfer.

"As per the cabinet decision, 895.63 acre land given to Noida industrial development authority will returned to irrigation department," official sources said here.

As promised in the SP manifesto, the cabinet also decided to provide Rs 3,000 per month to political prisoners, who were jailed in Emergency period between 1975-77 under MISA and DIR, besides providing them free medical facilities and travel in state roadways buses.

In the previous Mulayam Singh Yadav regime in the state, the party had announced Rs 1,000 monthly, free bus travel and medicines to about 7,000 people who were in jailed during Emergency.

The cabinet also decided to constitute a committee headed by Chief Secretary to implement Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. The committee will give its recommendations to implement that Act in the state.

It also approved amendment in Uttar Pradesh Basic Education teachers service rules to make TET as eligibility exam, they said.

In an important decision, the cabinet also decided to provide 36,750 square meter land free of cost in Allahabad to to construct residential accommodations for the High Court judges.

Other decisions of the cabinet included--implementation of one time settlement scheme for payment of entertainment tax for video game parlour and water parks and constitution of revolving fund for providing medical facilities to Vidhan Parishad secretariat employees in SGPGI.
