The state government's green signal came following the submission of a report by a Group of Ministers headed by deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.
Elaborating on this, UP cabinet minister Siddhartha Nath Singh said, "The government has allowed only e-tendering route to grant permits for mining in a limit of 10 acres of area during the next six months period to cope with the shortage of sand and other building materials."
The government also announced that transportation of mining produce would only be allowed with MM-11 (transit) permit in the state.
