UP govt tells HC about plan for heat wave relief
Press Trust of India Allahabad The Uttar Pradesh government today submitted in the Allahabad High Court a detailed action plan for providing relief to the people of the state from the heat wave.
A CD containing slideshows of the action plan was submitted before the Division Bench comprising Chief Justice D B Bhosle and Justice Yashwant Verma.
The Bench was hearing a Public Interest Litigation filed by Allahabad resident Akshay Mohile who had drawn the court's attention towards the intense heat wave conditions that prevail in the state every summer.
The court asked the petitioner to "go through the government's action plan and make suggestions, if any" within two weeks.
Earlier, on April 13, the court had rapped the state government when it sought two months' time for coming up with an action plan in accordance with guidelines laid down by the National Disaster Management Authority for tackling heat wave conditions.
