UP govt to install security cameras at girls' degree colleges

Uttar Pradesh government has decided to install surveillance cameras in all the women degree colleges in the state to enhance security.
Secretary Higher Education Neeraj Gupta said surveillance recording cameras will be installed at main gate, prominent places on the campus and hostels of the degree colleges.
Gupta said that all the regional higher education officers have been directed to ensure installation of cameras within a month.
They have also been asked to maintain data of 15 days.
Gupta said that these officers will monitor the installation work and would submit their report to the government after inspection by the month end.
