UP has become crime capital of the country under SP rule: Rudy
Press Trust of India Allahabad Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy today accused the ruling Samajwadi Party of turning Uttar Pradesh into crime capital of the country, saying it has even left far behind Bihar which is infamous for jungle raj.
"UP has become the crime capital of the country under SP rule. The state has left Bihar, infamous for jungle raj, far behind. All the claims being made by the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav about his development initiatives are false," he told reporters.
Rudy, who is a Minister of State holding the Independent Charge of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship portfolio, was here to canvass in favour of BJP candidates.
Claiming that whatever little progress was visible in UP is due to the steps taken by the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, he said "the Prime Minister is an MP from the state and he has many excellent ideas which have not been able to bear fruit because of the attitude of the ruling party."
He claimed the first phase of polls held last week have shown that BJP is ahead of all rivals, be it the newly-forged SP-Congress alliance or the discredited BSP.
"The momentum is likely to remain in place for the remaining six phases and when the counting of votes takes place on March 11, our party will emerge as the single largest one with a clear majority on its own.
"We are looking forward to forming the next government in the state. Our priority would be to restore the sanctity of institutions like the UP Public Service Commission which have suffered ignominy under the current political dispensation which has been appointing people with questionable integrity and credentials to key positions in constitutional and statutory bodies," Rudy added.
