Days after her suspension was revoked by Uttar Pradesh Government, IAS officer Durga Sakthi Nagpal, who had taken on sand mining mafia in Gautam Budh Nagar district, today met Minister of State for Personnel V Narayanasamy here.

It was a courtesy call by Nagpal to the Minister, official sources said, adding the meeting was brief and nothing much should be read into it.

28-year-old Nagpal, who had taken on sand mining mafia in Gautam Budh Nagar district where she was posted as sub-divisional magistrate, was suspended on July 27 ostensibly for ordering demolition of a wall of an under-construction mosque without following the due process.

The suspension of the 2010-batch IAS officer had triggered a major controversy as political parties including BJP and IAS officers association objected to the SP-led UP government's decision.

Nagpal's suspension was revoked by Uttar Pradesh government on September 22 and she was posted as Joint Magistrate of Kanpur (Rural) on September 28.

The Ministry of Personnel is also reviewing service rules to check harassment of any civil servant by frequent transfers or arbitrary suspensions.

The demand to review rules was raised by associations of three all India services -- Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFoS).
