UP official threatened by SP MLA, seeks security

Alleging that he was threatened by an SP MLA who wanted contracts to be awarded to his men, a senior officer today demanded personal security and action against the legislator.
Dhurandhar Singh, Executive Officer at Jiyanpur Nagar Panchyat, Azamgarh, said he received a call from SP MLA Abhay Narayan Singh on December 8 demanding that contracts related to development and construction work in the area be awarded to his men.
In a complaint filed with the District Magistrate and police, Dhurandhar said he received a call from the CUG number of the MLA, and demanded security.
He said due to the threat, he could not join duty.

Deoria is Singh's home district and he was here on December 8, when he received the call.
