UP police campaign against traffic violators

As many as 205 persons were arrested and 265 persons booked during a three-hour long campaign against traffic violators in Uttar Pradesh.
"A statewide campaign was launched against traffic violators yesterday between 5 to 8 PM, in which 205 persons were arrested and 265 FIRs were lodged", IG, Law and Order A Satish Ganesh said.
He said during the campaign 4819 four wheelers with black windscreens, 507 vehicles with unauthorised blue/red beacon lights, and 3802 four wheelers were checked.
Replying to a question about Lucknow smart city surveillance system project, the IG said its trial will be done around January 26, in which 25 crossings of the city will have CCTV coverage.

He said under the project all 70 crossings will have be to covered through CCTV.
