Amid apprehensions of protests over alleged attacks on minorities in Assam and Myanmar, the administration is alert and has taken all necessary measures in this regard, a senior police official said.
"The administration is aware that protests have taken place in the state against incidents in Assam and Myanmar through handing over of memorandum as well as circulation of pamphlets," IG, law and order BP Singh said.
The respective district administrations are in touch with locals and peace committees, he said.
"The administration is also vigilant to check any rumour mongering," he Singh.
In view of the 'Alvida Namaz' (the last Friday of the month of Ramadan) necessary arrangements have alreday made, Singh said adding that adequate forces have been deployed.
