UP: Probe ordered into 'illegal' land purchase by S Korean in Barabanki

The Barabanki district magistrate (DM) has ordered a probe into reports of a South Korean national purchasing a piece of land here claiming to be an Indian.
The matter would be investigated by a four-member committee.
Beuyng Kil from South Korea had purchased 0.280 hectares land in 2012 in Fatehpur tehsil's Ghungter area. Currently, a skill development project is being run from there, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Fatehpur, Ajay Kumar Singh said today.
The SDM said that a few days ago, the LIU (Local Intelligence Unit) reported that a South Korean man had got the registry of the purchased land in an illegal manner.
On inquiry, it was found that Beuyng was mentioned as an Indian in the registry documents dating December 5, 2012, he said.
"Beuyng has signed the documents as the chairman of Juan Business Private Limited, which is a registered Indian company," the SDM said.

Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Surendra Bahadur Yadav said DM Akhilesh Tewari, taking cognisance of the reports, has constituted a team to probe the matter.
The ADM said that Beuyng met him yesterday and presented gave his version.
The man claimed that he does not understand Hindi and had no information about him being mentioned as an Indian in the registry papers, Yadav said.
