Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) association, spearheading the movement to keep the state united, today said it is now up to the Union Ministers and MPs from Seemandhra to stall the Telangana Bill, which is set to be introduced in Parliament next week.
"Now the responsibility is on the shoulders of Union Ministers from Seemandhra to stall the Telangana Bill in Parliament before or after its introduction," APNGOs President Ashok Babu told reporters here.
"If our ministers and MPs can act effectively to stall the bill in Rajya Sabha (where it will be introduced on Feb 12), some national parties are prepared to support our line and not allow passage of the bill (which seeks to create Telangana State)," he said.
A group of united Andhra Pradesh supporters, including government employees, students and advocates, will go to Delhi on February 11 and meet national leaders to get their backing for their campaign, Babu said.
On February 17, they will sit on a dharna at Janta Mantar in support of the demand to keep the state united, he said.
Babu was here to take part in 'a walk for unity' organised in Seemandhra districts by unified Andhra Pradesh supporters.
