"I have sent my resignation letter to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav," Rana told PTI here.
"At the time of taking up the post I had promised to quit if I failed to serve Urdu. I was not allowed to work by my own associates. Whatever I wanted to do was made to fail.. Was not even allowed to get information about the works of the Academy leave alone including me in the decision-making.
"Under these conditions I had no option other than resigning," he alleged.
He said that despite his efforts, schemes like insurance cover for Urdu litterateurs and setting up Urdu coaching centres in districts were not implemented and nothing was done to felicitate litterateurs.
