The United Progressive Alliance government in Jharkhand wants to fulfil the aspirations and expectations of all the people of the state, Governor Syed Ahmed said today.
Addressing the Jharkhand Assembly for the first time after the ninth government was formed on July 13, the Governor said the priority of the UPA government in the state was to ensure social justice and harmony and putting development on the fast track.
"I believe my government will fulfil the people's aspiration and expectations," he said, a week after the Hemant Soren-led UPA government won the floor test.
Social harmony and a feeling of security by each individual would lead to rapid progress, Ahmed contended.
The government's aim is to give transparent, sensitive and responsible governance, making the society free of crime, fear and injustice and the administration will remain vigilant to maintain communal harmony, the Governor said.
He underlined various schemes for SC/ST, dalits, the exploited sections, backward and minority people while committing to pay attention to all the sections of the people.

To derive maximum funds for developmental work, the government would maintain fiscal discipline and unnecessary expenditure, he said.
Later, the House was adjourned for the day after taking up obituary references.
