UpGrad commits Rs 200cr for international expansions

Online education company UpGrad today announced a collaboration with the executive education division of Cambridge Judge Business School, and has earmarked Rs 200 crore, for its international expansion.
The company will expand operations into South East Asia (SEA) and middle east markets, UpGrad said in a statement.
"After being the only online education company having upgraded over than 170,000 professionals in the country, venturing into international markets was the next logical step for us," Ronnie Screwvala and Mayank Kumar, Co-Founders, UpGrad said.
With focus on upskilling business professionals in digital marketing strategies, the program will combine Cambridge Judge Business School's faculty along with experts and select corporate partners from local markets, it added.
The enrolments are starting today and the first batch will launch in January 2018.
UpGrad will be marking its first international expansion into Singapore and Dubai, supporting the company's strategic business decision and global growth strategy, it said.
With over 400,000 marketing professionals across south east Asia and middle eastern markets who require upskilling and an executive education market size of USD 110 m, these markets are an attractive avenue for UpGrad, it explained.
