Upgrade passenger facilities: NSCBIA advisory committee

The Advisory Committee of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport today stressed on the need to upgrade passenger facilities at the aiport.
A meeting, convened by the airport director Atul Dikshit, was held at the airport under the chairmanship of the TMC Lok Sabha MP Sougata Roy, a release issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) said here today.
Issues like drainage system, bird hazard management, traffic management and widening of roads were discussed by the participants.
The issue of regulating and streamlining the operation of yellow taxis and white-line taxis from the airport were also discussed in the meeting.
The airport director also briefed the committee members about the newly introduced facilities of retiring rooms and improved visibility of self-check-in kiosks at the airport.
The meeting was attended, among others, by the representatives of the North 24-Parganas District Magistrate, Commissioner of Police of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation and other civic bodies around the airport and Irrigation and Waterways department.
Senior Commandant CISF and Capt. Sarvesh Gupta, Chairman, Airline Operators' Committee were also present in the meeting, the release added.
