Its net profit stood at Rs 166 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Total income increased marginally by about three per cent to Rs 3,846 crore in the September quarter from Rs 3,740 crore in the same quarter of 2016-17 fiscal.
Expenses remained slightly lower at Rs 3,440 crore as against Rs 3,444 crore, in the period under the review.
UPL' shares rose 0.42 per cent to Rs 833 a piece during afternoon trade.
