Rajasthan Assembly today witnessed uproar over a BJP MLA's claim that a criminal had allegedly entered the House premises and the Opposition Congress protesting over not being given adequate time by the Speaker.
Sumerpur MLA Madan Rathore, waving pictures taken by the CCTV cameras in the assembly premises said that the "entry of the criminal" today was a serious threat to security of the members, and claimed he was "accompanied by the Leader of Opposition, Rameshwar Dudi".
Speaking in the House, Rathore alleged that Dudi had brought the criminal, Ramchandra Khileri of Bikaner to the assembly in his car and took him to his chamber. He also demanded a probe into the incident.
Rathore was given permission by the Speaker to raise the matter during the Zero Hour, when Congress members led by Dudi were creating uproar in the well of the House against the Speaker's restriction on member's time to speak on adjournment motions and debate on grants for home and jail departments.
Meanwhile, when Speaker Kaillash Meghwal did not allow Congress legislator Ashok Chandna to speak beyond the set limit and also asked other Congress MLAs to follow the instruction, Congress legislator Pradhyumn Singh requested the Speaker to be "liberal".
The Speaker reacting to the request said he was liberal earlier but the Opposition members were not co-operating him in running the House smoothly, hence he would be strict today as per the rules.
Congress legislators also staged protest on Rathore's allegation.
