During the question hour today, while raising a question on the population of Asiatic Lions in Gir, Congress MLA from Manavadar Javahar Chavda made some comments on the role played by Modi in increasing the number of wild cats at the sanctuary.
Enraged over the remarks, BJP MLAs present in the House during the question hour, were on their feet in protest and vociferously demanded an apology from Chavda.
The Assembly Speaker Vajubhai Vala ordered those words to be removed from records of the House proceedings.
"These type of remarks are not acceptable as it is derogatory for the Chief Minister of this state and member should apologise for it," demanded State Finance Minister Nitin Patel.
