At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in November rose Rs 95, or 0.54 per cent to Rs 17,610 per quintal with an open interest of 3,369 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in October moved up by Rs 80, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 17,435 per quintal in 15,006 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in jeera futures to fresh positions built up by participants driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
