Upsurge in demand lifts refined soya futures 0.24 pc

Refined soya oil prices were trading up 0.24 per cent to Rs 635.70 per 10 kg in futures market today as participants built up fresh positions after pick up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in July went up by Rs 1.50, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 635.70 per 10 kg with an open interest of 50,850 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in June edged up by 40 paise, or 0.06 per cent to Rs 628.50 per 10 kg in 14,660 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to rise in demand in the spot market, mainly influenced refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
