At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in August rose by Rs 112, or 1.52 per cent to Rs 7,488 per quintal with an open interest of 14,795 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July traded higher by Rs 60, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 7,420 per quintal in 25 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to pick up in demand in the spot market, mainly attributed the rise in turmeric prices at futures trade.
