Amid pick up in demand at domestic spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions, chana prices were up by 1.11 per cent to Rs 5,081 per quintal in futures trade today as traders enlarged positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May shot up by Rs 56, or 1.11 per cent to Rs 5,081 per quintal with an open interest of 38,220 lots.
In a similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in April went up by Rs 27, or 0.53 per cent to Rs 5,078 per quintal in 5,800 lots.
Analysts said besides upsurge in demand in the spot market, restricted supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up chana prices at futures trade.
