Amid pick-up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices edged higher 0.60 per cent to Rs 907.40 per kg in futures trading today.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November was trading higher by Rs 5.40, or 0.60 per cent, to Rs 907.40 per kg in a business turnover of 50 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in far-month December edged up by Rs 5.10, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 920.40 per kg in 86 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators driven by pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
