Mentha oil prices rose by 1.56 per cent to Rs 920.50 per kg in futures trading today as traders enlarged positions on pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Besides, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August month rose by Rs 14.10 or 1.56 per cent to Rs 920.50 per kg in business turnover of 588 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in far-month September contracts gained Rs 13.50 or 1.47 per cent to Rs 931.40 per kg in 73 lots.
Besides pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at the futures trade, analysts said.
