Urad, arhar climb up to Rs 500/qtl on firm demand

Prices of urad and arhar surged by upto Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale market today on increased buying by stockists, driven by rising demand from retailers amid restricted supplies from producing regions.
Traders said increased buying by stockists following upsurge in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly supported the upmove in urad and arhar prices.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local shot up by Rs 500 each to Rs 6,500-7,500 and Rs 6,800-6,900 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,900-7,400 and Rs 7,300-7600 per quintal.
Arhar and its dal dara variety were also seen in demand and rose by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,300 and Rs 7,100-8,900 per quintal.

Masoor small Rs 4,850-5,000, bold Rs 4,900-5,050, Dal Masoor local Rs 5,300-5,800, best quality Rs 5,400-5,900, Malka local Rs 6,200-6,400, best Rs 6,300-6,500, Moth Rs 3,500-3,900, Arhar Rs 5,300, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 7,100-8,900.
Gram Rs 9,700-10,000, Gram dal (local) Rs 10,400-10,700, best quality Rs 10,800-10,900, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 4,500, Rajdhani Rs 4,500, Rajma Chitra Rs 6,500-9,000, Kabuli Gram small Rs 10,000-10,500, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,400-5,600, Peas white Rs 2,550-2,575 and green Rs 2,800-2,900.
