However, other pulses moved in a narrow range on little doing and settled around previous levels.
Marketmen said apart from pick up in demand from retailers, limited arrivals from producing belts led to rise in urad and its dal prices.
In addition, depreciating rupee which dipped to Rs 60.50 against the dollar, making imports costlier influenced pulses prices, they said.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 5,200-5,700 and Rs 6,450-6,650 per quintal respectively. Urad dal best quality and dhoya also traded higher by Rs 100 each to 6,700-7,300 and Rs 6,950-7,350 per quintal respectively.
