Marketmen besides upsruge in demand from retailers, paucity of stocks on the back of restricted supplies from growing regions and hoarding of stocks by speculators m mainly led to the rise in urad and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local shot up by Rs 500 each to Rs 11,000-13,300 and Rs 11,800-12,000 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 11,900-12,500 and Rs 12,300-12,700 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold also moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,900-6,300 and Rs 6,050-6,350 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,750-7,250 and Rs 6,850-7,350 per quintal.
Malka local and best quality rose by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 7,200-7,500 and Rs 7,300-7,600 per quintal.

In line with overall trend, gram rose by Rs 150 to Rs 5,300-5,850 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality were up by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,620-5,920 and Rs 6,040-6,150 per quintal respectively. Besign Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted higher at Rs 2,420 instead of Rs 2,400 per 35 kg bag respectively.
