Traders said besides rising demand from retailers, tight supplies on fall in arrivals from producing belts mainly pushed up select pulse prices.
Furthermore, depreciating rupee against the dollar that made imports costlier and expectations of lower output this year due to crop damage following recent unseasonal rains influenced the sentiment to some extent, they said.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local spurted by Rs 300 each to Rs 7,800-8,300 and Rs 8,700-8,900 per quintal respectively. Urad dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and jumped up by a similar margin to Rs 8,900-9,500 and Rs 9,300-9,800 per quintal respectively.
Moth, arhar and its dal dara variety also edged up by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,100-6,400, Rs 6,900-6,950 and Rs 8,250-8,550 per quintal respectively.

In line with overall trend, rajma chitra gained Rs 100 to Rs 4,600-5,900 per quintal.
