Urad, rajmah prices rise on upsurge in demand

Prices of urad and rajmah firmed up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale market on hectic demand from retailers against tight supplies from producing belts.
Marketmen said apart from rising demand from retailers, restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in urad and rajmah prices.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local shot up by Rs 300 each to Rs 6,550-7,000 and Rs 7,550-7,750 per quintal, respectively.
Its dal best quality and dhoya were up by a similar margin to Rs 7,700-8,300 and Rs 8,100-8,500 per quintal.
Rajmah chitra also jumped up by Rs 150 to Rs 4,100-5,500 per quintal.
