White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said yesterday that the US and Pakistan share an "important" relationship and coordinate "effectively" on national security issues.
"The United States has an important relationship with Pakistan. We don't agree on everything, but we certainly have been able to effectively coordinate on a variety of national security issues that's important to fighting extremists and protecting the citizens in both our countries," Earnest said.
"The relationship between the US and Turkey is different than its relationship with Pakistan. Pakistan is not a NATO ally, but certainly the US benefits to have a productive relationship with Pakistan, he said.
