from Washington Agriculture and Forestry Education Foundation (AgForestry) today visited Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) to learn about its role in the Green Revolution and current research works towards sustainable agricultural development.
The delegation comprised foresters, government agency personnel, farmers and livestock producers.
In an interaction with PAU scientists, AgForestry Programme Director Matt Kloes appreciated the university's research focus on conservation agriculture and said similar efforts form a part of current US agricultural research, a PAU release said here.
AgForestry provides leadership development programmes for adults, offering hands-on learning experiences to impart skills required for driving natural resource and industrial growth, sustainability and economic viability, the release said.
The delegation visited the Crop Museum to learn about the sowing patterns, climatic and soil requirements of popular crops sown in Punjab.
