A US drone fired two missiles in Pakistan's northwest tribal region tonight amid anti-drone protests being staged in the country.
The missiles were fired in Miranshah, South Waziristan, media reports said.
The drones were still flying around the targeted area. It could not immediately be ascertained whether the drones had targeted a vehicle or a compound.
It was also not known whether anyone had been killed in the strikes.
The attack comes at a time when Pakistan and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has taken an increasingly anti-drone stance with regular sit-ins being organised to stop NATO supplylines.
The November 21 drone strike, which killed six people and injured eight others in the populated area of Hangu, had angered many people.
Shireen Mazari, the party's chief spokesperson tweeted, "Drone attack on Miranshah while (ou)r govt stays silent! When will govt act on APC mandate? US fears nothing from PMLN govt clearly. Comdemnable.
