A 32-year-old man from Brooklyn, who has not been named in court documents, said he had an ally in his quest -- a fortuneteller -- who fought the evil spirits day and night from her storefront in Times Square, according to accusations that led the police to arrest her last month.
The police and the man said the fortuneteller, Priscilla Kelly Delmaro, 26, had bled him dry over 20 months.
The man told his story in a written statement prepared with Bob Nygaard, a private investigator, and presented to detectives at the Midtown South precinct last month.
Delmaro, whom he first approached in 2013, told the man that he and the woman named Michelle were "twin flames" kept apart by negativity. The man made payments to Delmaro over the next 20 months totalling USD 713,975.

Months later when Michelle died, Delmaro said she would reincarnate her. For months she kept fleecing the man of money till he was broke.
Finally he sought out Nygaard, and they went to the police in May. Bank statements were given to detectives: He was out by USD 713,975.
Delmaro and her companion Evans were arrested on May 26 in a restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. They were charged with grand larceny and remain in jail.
The victim was hoping that Delmaro could remove the obstacles that were keeping them apart. Delmaro basically preyed upon the victims desires by selling him false hope, he said.
The man lost his apartment, sold his car and borrowed USD 28,000 from family and friends to fund his fortune teller's demands.
