The 69-year-old violinist, composer and conductor, who set a new benchmark in the classical Carnatic music and Western classical music through his instrument, had performed at the 70th birthday celebration of Menuhin.
Impressed by the style and technique of Subramaniam, Menuhin had cut an album with him and a small clipping of both of them performing is currently available online.
He said that though north Indian and south Indian classical music followed separate strands, both reflected the rich diversity of Indian classical music tradition.
