US trade delegation visits Cochin Port Trust

A trade delegation from the US today visited the Cochin Port Trust and held detailed discussions to explore avenues of closer commercial co-operation on port-led investments.
The trade delegation, from the Executive Office of the US President, was led by deputy US trade representative Robert Holleyman and accompanied by senior officials from the US embassy in India. The US team held discussions with Cochin Port Trust Chairman Paul Antony and Traffic Manager C Unnikrishnan Nair, port trust officials said.
The team discussed on commencing a direct ship service connecting Cochin to the US East Coast, they said.
The team also evinced keen interest in commercial developments related to outer harbour in Cochin Port, the officials added.
