US woman mauled by pet dog loses her arm

A 65-year-old woman has lost an arm and part of another after a vicious attack by her pet dog in her Connecticut house.
Anne Murray, from Wilton, was mauled by her pet pit bull on Monday, according to the police.
Police were alerted after a 911 caller told them that a dog has mauled someone and said the victim was screaming for help.
"They're screaming for help. They are saying, 'Help me, help me. He's mauling me," the caller said.
When emergency responders arrived, they found Murray under a car, trying to protect herself.
The first police officer to arrive at the scene shot and killed the dog, 'nbcconnecticut.Com' reported.

Police are investigating the dog attack and the canine's remains will be tested for rabies.
Murray is in a stable condition at a hospital as of Tuesday.
