No devotee will be allowed to use adulterated mustard oil to worship the deity of Lord Shani at the historic temple nestled in the Ainti hill in Madhya Pradesh from tomorrow.
The temple managing committee decided that it won't allow devotees to use adulterated mustard oil to worship, since it damages the deity.
It is believed that the idol of Lord Shani temple and one more deity of Lord Hanuman nearby came up during King Chandragupta Vikramditya's era.
"The temple management will sell pure mustard oil measuring 100 ml to one litre to the faithful for worshipping," Morena Collector Shilpa Gupta told reporters here.
She said that a government official would keep an eye to ensure that only pure mustard oil was used to worship.
She said that a two-day Shani Mela (fair) will begin at Ainti hill from tomorrow adding that devotees from different parts of the country and abroad would take part.
Mustard oil is of paramount importance in worshipping Lord Shani, the temple management said.
