The stock jumped 6.02 per cent to end at Rs 2,203.10 on BSE. During the day, it climbed 6.83 per cent to Rs 2,220.
On NSE, it surged 6.45 per cent to close at Rs 2,211.90.
Following an uptick in the counter, the company's market valuation rose by Rs 1,818.06 crore to Rs 32,017.16 crore.
On the volume front, 2.38 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 18.46 lakh shares changed hands on NSE during the day.
USL's total income from operations grew 6.16 per cent to Rs 7,082.22 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 6,670.72 crore the same period a year ago.
"We have delivered a strong net sales growth of 6 per cent despite the subdued economic environment in the third quarter due to demonetisation... We have been able to manage through this period better than our initial expectations," USL CEO Anand Kripalu had said.
