Announcing the incentive at the stone-laying ceremony of a dairy on Raipur road here, Bahuguna said it would boost milk productivity.
Further incentives will be given to milk producers if productivity increases, he said.
Noting that women in large numbers are involved in dairy activities in the state, especially in the hill areas, Bahuguna said economic empowerment of women was necessary to set Uttarakhand on the path of progress. He also advised cooperative milk unions to adopt modern technology to increase output in these competitive times.
