Uttarakhand cop to get President's police medal

An IPS officer of 1989 batch, Meena served on important posts in undivided Uttar Pradesh and then in Uttarakhand, especially in its crime infested districts and holds an excellent track record, a press release issued on the eve of Republic Day by the state police headquarters said today.

A total of seven police officers from Uttarakhand, including DIG Amit Kumar Sinha and and DIG (Dehradun range) Sanjay Kumar Gunjyal, have been honoured for their meritorious services this year.

Besides Sinha and Gunjyal, others who have been awarded police medals are DSP (Lokayukta Office) Ranjeet Singh Chauhan, DSP (Almora) Kishan Singh Hayanki, and DSP (Tehri) Surendra Singh Chinwan.

Fire Service Second officer Dehradun Surat Singh Rawat has bagged the Fire Service Medal.
