DGP Satyavarat Bansal spoke to Delhi Police Commissioner in this regard and was told that the investigations so far into the farmhouse shootout have not confirmed the presence of any such official at the time of the incident, an official statement said here, terming reports appearing in a section of the press in this regard as "pure speculation".
Reports appeared in a section of the press here saying that an Uttarakhand-cadre IAS officer was present at the farmhouse at the time of the shootout, prompting opposition BJP to demand that the identity of the official, his links with the slain liquor baron and the purpose behind his visit to the scene of the incident be disclosed.
State minority commission chief Sukhdev Singh Namdhari was recently sacked on grounds of "doubt on his integrity" after his presence along with his gunner at the crime scene came to light during the probe.
