They were on strike since December 27 affecting work in government offices across the state in support of their demand for pay revision as in case of their Uttar Pradesh counterparts.
"We called off our stir this evening after we were handed a government order revising our pay scale on par with our Uttar Pradesh counterparts with effect from April 1, 2013," Uttarakhand Federation of Ministerial Services Association office bearer Deep Chand Budlakoti said.
The government order revising their pay scale was issued after Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna held a meeting with federation leaders including its state president T S Pundir and general secretary Sunil Dutt Kothari.
The state government had to buckle under pressure as its recent order imposing no work no pay regulation on the striking employees failed to deter them.
Bahuguna had appealed to the striking employees on Thursday to end their stir expressing readiness to talk to them and assuring them that their interest would not be allowed to suffer.
