The decision was taken during the Authority Meeting of the Delhi Development Authority today where the matter was discussed.
It was approved that UTTIPEC should also report the same to Vice Chairman, DDA and Lt Governor of Delhi, the chairman of the DDA.
A project implementation unit was also approved to be constituted with Chief Engineer (South), DDA as the nodal officer.
A detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared for the entire stretch of 12.5-km of the project which is located within the zone J and zone F of DDA Zonal Developmental Plan and covers the total length of Barapullah drain originating near Saib-ul-Ajab near Meharauli and ending at the confluence with river Yamuna near Barapullah Bridge.

The project will be funded by DDA and an indicative project cost as estimated by IDFC was indicated at Rs 250 crore for phase-I i.E. From Sarai Kale Khan to INA.
According to the urban body, a modification in gazette notification issued on June 18 last year, was proposed by way of allowing inclusion of 17 villages as part of the green belt.
Among other decisions taken at the meeting, as per modifications suggested in the Master Plan Delhi-2021, it proposed that the maximum ground coverage in respect of plots from 750 sqm and above be increased from 40 per cent to 50 per cent and the FAR (floor area ratio) be increased from 120 to 200.
Change of land use of an area measuring 21.58 hectares situated in revenue estate of Village Ghitorni here from residential to public and semi-public was also proposed in the meet.
